The top 30 players in FedExCup points after this week’s BMW Championship will qualify for the playoff finale.
Only one player — Sungjae Im — played his way from outside to inside the cut line for the second of three playoff events. Im sits in solo seventh at Bellerive Country Club through 54 holes and projects to be the 30th man in the field at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
In other words: He’s got a world of pressure on his shoulders Sunday in St. Louis.
One point separates No. 28 Kurt Kitayama from Nos. 29 and 30, Bud Cauley and Rickie Fowler, respectively (Cauley and Fowler are separated by decimal points). Gary Woodland, at 31st, is two points behind Fowler. No. 32 J.T. Poston is 21 points behind Fowler.
